My son is 11 years old with autism. He struggles with staying seated. Since his hugimal which he got was Sidney, he’s able to relax and stay seated to get things done. He loves the weight and he also loves that he can be warmed in the microwave or dryer. If anyone looks as though they’re having a bad day he warms him up and wrap him around them. Such a cute great and effective product!!
Darby, the bear, has brought so much comfort and joy to someone who spends a lot of time in bed with numerous medical issues. Darby hugs are awesome and feel almost lifelike. Sleeping with Darby brings a sense of comfort and security. Darby is weighted just right and in all the right places. Just holding Darby throughout the day brings a sense of calm and comfort. Darby was delivered to the recipient in good shape and have no issues thus far with any seems coming apart and Darby is loved and slept with every day and night.

I’m autistic and bought this Hugimal after realising I was craving deep pressure input (something that helps regulate the nervous system). I was hesitant at first — it felt like a lot of money for what I thought was “just a teddy” (even though I love teddies!) — but I’m so glad I took the plunge.
The quality is incredible. You can feel straight away that it’s made to last, unlike some cheaper weighted plushies. It’s so soft and well-made, with no odd smell (a big plus for me as I’m very sensitive to scents). His ears are ridiculously fluffy and comforting to stroke, and the weight is evenly distributed throughout his arms, legs, and tummy — which makes him feel extra grounding. I love putting his weighted arms over me, like he’s hugging me back.
He’s ridiculously cute, and I’ve found myself reaching for him throughout the day when I’m feeling tense or overstimulated. I’ve had weighted blankets before, but this feels different — more personal and instantly soothing.
If you’re on the fence because of the price, I honestly think it’s worth it for the comfort and quality. He’s become my instant “weighted hug” friend, and I can’t imagine not having him now. 🐨💛

They are 9&11 years old.
The pillows are soft and lovely,…. Yet, too heavy for them.
This turtle Hugimal was purchased for my 2 year old grandson, but to assuage any worries my son might have regarding it being “age-appropriate” I gave it to him instead. It was promptly put on a shelf in a bedroom and I’m sure it will be given away before my next visit. Lesson learned.
I absolutely love Sam the Sloth from Hugimals! It was exactly what I needed for my proprioceptive needs! Other weighted stuff animals just were not helping me. I’ve been dealing with anxiety, depression, and other issues for some time now. I was so thrilled to find that this company offered an adorable brown bear. I’ve had this bear for over two weeks now, and I have noticed that it helps calm me down and focus on more pleasant thoughts. I’ve fallen asleep with this wonderful weighted plush bear several times. Thank you for creating these awesome plushies. I like this company and the story behind its creation.
My daughter had a serious injury which caused a great deal of pain and her anxiety was through the roof. When the Koala arrived was at the apex of her experience and when I gave her my present, she pulled it to her. Through the day I would find her hugging it to her while she slept. It was her constant companion for a few days. FYI she has had anxiety since the age of 3. Is now 45. So it works. ❤️
Bought 2 of these for my 2 grandchildren. They were very happy with their gifts - especially with the warming feature.
I ordered 2 hearts, each 5 lbs for my granddaughters. They are beautiful and they loved the colors and the softness of the material. However, they were too heavy to hold. My granddaughters are 9 & 11 years old and the younger has trouble holding it.
That is my only concern.
Maybe a 3 lb would be a thought for children under 10 years old?
Yet, I’m glad I got it for them. They had recently lost a grandparent and this was given to them to help deal with their grief.
I have purchased several of these Hugimals for my mom who is 90 and has early stage Alzheimer’s. She lives alone right now (right next to my house), has given them her own names, calls them her Kids and talks to them. Thank you for these precious ones!
